Writers prize winners L to R: Donna Edwards, runner up; Kathy Binks for sponsor AnglicareSA; Mary Louise Nichols, winner

ZestFest’s annual writing competition returned for its second year. Open to any unpublished piece of writing by a South Australian writer, this year we invited entrants to create a short (up to 500 words) piece of fiction, non-fiction, prose or poetry with their interpretation on the theme of ‘Tomorrow’.

With more than 80 entries, the 2019 ZestFest Writers Prize was a great success. We had a wonderful response comprising entries in prose and verse, fiction and nonfiction, drama and comedy…

And the winner is…

Congratulations to winner Mary Louise Nicholas for her piece On nearing 70

And to runner up, Donna Edwards for her piece Tomorrow’s evolution
